If you are looking for a new skin care range then you have some to the right place as here at The Strawberry Fountain we put them through their paces so you don’t have to. There is nothing worse than investing in new beauty products only to find they don’t do what they claim to or aren’t suitable for your skin type. Which is why all of our reviews, including this one of the Hada Labo Tokyo range, are honest and full of helpful information.
What is Hada Labo Tokyo?
Hada Labo Tokyo, which translates to skin lab in Japanese, is Japans number one skincare brand which was first developed in 2004 in the cosmetic laboratories of Rohto Pharmaceuticals Japan. It is very popular across Asia and America and has recently become popular across the UK too. This popularity is due mainly to the fact that it is one of few brands that is affordable, available on the high street in places like Superdrug, and gets results quickly. This unique blend has been designed with the intention to be effective for everyone no matter what their skin type and all of the Hada Labo products have been formulated in such a way that all unnecessary ingredients and additives have been removed making them free from parabens, dyes, mineral oils and fragrances so “that they contain everything your skin needs and nothing it doesn’t”.
The three magic ingredients
Hada Labo use three magic ingredients in their products that work wonders on the skin, especially when it comes to reducing the signs of ageing, these are super hyaluronic acid, collagen and retinol.
Super Hyaluronic acid is Hada Lado’s exclusive blend of three different types of Hyaluronic Acid which creates a hydration powerhouse. The inclusion of this means that your skin will be plum, firm and free from wrinkles.
Collagen is a protein that will help keep your skin healthy.
Retinol is a type of vitamin A that can help to clear your complexion and reduce the signs of ageing.
These three incredible ingredients work together to make Hada Labo the number one best selling kin care range in Japan.
My review of the Hada Labo Tokyo products
I was sent four Hada Labo products to review
- The day cream
- The night Cream
- The eye and mouth area cream
- The anti-aging super hydration lotion.
Each one of these products is from the anti-aging range and has been created using super hyalouronic acid, collagen and retinol to help improve the look of wrinkles (even the deeper ones) and tighten the skin making it appear more youthful.
All four of these products are fragrance free and recommended for all skin types including sensitive skin.
I have now been using these products as part of my skin care routine for the past four weeks and below you can find out what I thought of each one individually and of the range as a whole.
The Hada Labo Tokyo Day and Night creams
These two products are both light weight creams that soak into the skin quickly leaving it it feeling very soft and nourished. I found that with both of these creams my skin felt soft to the touch for hours after use if I didn’t apply my cosmetic products. The night cream is slightly thicker and heavy than the day cream but I would still class it as light weight compared to other night creams I have tied. After four weeks of using these two products my skin feels smoother and tighter and I will be continuing with these creams as I think they are starting to make a difference however not a visible one so far.
I would recommend that you use both as they do complement each other well.
The Hada Labo Eye and Mouth area cream
The eye and moth area cream is designed to be used both morning and night. It is a thin cream, much thinner than eye creams I have previously used, and it too soaks in quickly. It targets those deep wrinkles that can form around the eyes and the mouth and after just a few weeks I have started to notice a small difference on the ones around my eyes and I will definitely be carrying on with this product too. I am astonished at how effective this cream is at under £15.
The Hada Labo Tokyo Anti-aging Super Hydration Lotion
This product is like nothing I have used before. It is similar to a serum except it is a lot thinner and more water like. You only need a tiny bit of this to cover your whole face and neck and once applied you instantly feel fresher. This product took the longest to get used to but it is actually my favourite out of the 4 I tried. It is designed to be used as many times as you like and can even be applied over your make up. It is a rejuvenating moisturiser with a lock-in moist formula. Just like the other products this too contains super Hyaluronic acid, collagen and retinol to help fight the signs of aging. If you are only going to try one of the Hada Labo Tokyo products this is the one I would recommend you try first as I felt like I could feel it working straight away, it made my skin feel brighter, tighter and refreshed.
Overall thoughts of the range?
Overall I am a huge fan of the Hada Labo Tokyo products. I am very impressed with how effective they are and how affordable they are considering they contain three of the most sought after skin care ingredients: Super Hyaluronic acid, collagen and retinol. If you are looking to try a new skin care brand then I would recommend you give this one a go, especially as unlike some skin care ranges there aren’t long delivery times. You can either shop in store at places like Superdrug or order online from Amazon and have it the next day, however if you order direct the delivery times are about a week.
