We all know that with age comes wrinkles and with wrinkles usually comes a determination to reduce, hide or eradicate them in some way. The beauty industry also know this which is why everywhere you look there is a new anti aging product or wrinkle reducing diet, the question is which ones are worth the money and which ones aren’t? In a bid to try and separate the good from the bad I have been putting a number of products to the test and below you can read my review of the New Nordic Hyaluronic Acid shots and skin care products.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that our bodies produce naturally which helps to hold in moisture in both our hair and skin. As we age our bodies will start producing less of it which is why so many people are now reintroducing it to their beauty regime to give their hair and skin optimal moisture and a natural looking glow, which will help to prevent the look of aging skin.
What are Hyaluronic Acid Shots?
Hyaluronic Acid has been available in creams and lotions for a while, these are applied direct to the skin to help hydrate it. However, New Nordic recently launched the first to market drinkable Hyaluronic liquid sachet shots. The idea is that these shots will boost your skincare routine from within, improving the elasticity of your skin, enhance its moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Each shot contains 40mg of hyaluronic acid along side sea buckthorn, hydrolysed freshwater marine collagen, vitamin C and tagetes. Togther this combination offers maximum support for aging skin.
Review of New Nordic’s Hyaluronic Products
I was kindly sent a two week supply of the hyaluronic shots and the first thing I can tell you is that they are easy to take. They come in easy to open individual sachets that you can take on the go with you if you need to and drink straight from the packaging. They also taste okay. They have a citrus flavour that is nice enough that you don’t feel you need to prepare yourself for or wash down with water. It is quite a strong flavour and you wouldn’t want a glass full of it but one shot a day is easy enough.
New Nordic expect results to work within 12 weeks, I was only taking it for 2 so I obviously didn’t see any major changes. However, I was teaming the shots with the hyaluronic skincare products and by the end of the two weeks my skin definitely felt much more hydrated and soft to touch and it also looked a bit brighter.
The skin care products have lasted much longer than the two weeks. I am now 5 weeks in and I am still using the serum, active cream and eye cream and do believe that the benefits are starting to increase. My wrinkles haven’t all disappeared, this isn’t a miracle cure, but they do look better, not as deep, and my skin definitely feels better too.
The hyaluronic active serum is designed to be used everyday, twice a day. It is not like any serum I have used before in that it has more of a day cream texture, it’s white not clear and doesn’t leave a sticky residue on your skin. One of the things that I love about the serum is that is soaks in very quickly unlike some serums meaning I can apply the face cream almost straight away instead of waiting for it to dry.
The Hyaluronic active cream is thicker than the serum and offers an intense moisturising experience which is something that I have noticed and do believe it works. Again you can apply this twice a day and a little bit goes along way so it’s great value for money.
The third product from the New Nordic skin care range that I have been using is the Hyaluronic eye cream. Again it goes on nicely and soaks in quickly. It is designed to rejuvenate the eye area thanks to the combination of hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil.
Overall I really like all of these products, including the shots and have seen an improvement in my skin over the last 5 weeks so will continue to use them. If you have dry or dull skin that is in need of some hydration or an intense moisturising boost then I would recommenced the hyaluronic acid range from New Nordic.
