Are you looking for a new family game for games night? Then how about Polar Panic, a Cheatwell game aimed at those aged 6 and over. Here is what we thought of Polar Panic as well as your chance to win a copy of the game for you and your family.

Polar Panic

Polar Panic is a fast paced game for 2-6 players aged 6 and over. The aim of the game is to “spot two matching fish and land the catch! But watch out for the polar bear…if he shows his furry face it’s game over!”

Our review of Polar Panic

The first thing I noticed about this game is that it comes inside a handy tin making it a great travel game for holidays or even just when your’re going out for a meal and want to entertain the kids for a bit at the table.

Secondly, the instructions are really easy to understand. It’s like a game of pairs but instead of turning the cards back over if they don’t match you keep turning new cards over and then compete to spot the match the quickest. This does mean that you need to be all in and concentrating but each game is short lived, very short if you find the Polar Bear quickly, so it’s great for those with short attention spans too.

We also like the fact that the instructions offer you a second version of the game and as with most card games you can also adapt it yourself to make it harder or last longer if you want.

The game is aimed at 6 and over which I think is due to the fact you have to spot them quickly but if you aren’t playing with older, more competitive children, then I think a child from the age of 4 would enjoy this and they would easily be able to understand the rules, it might just take them a little longer to spot the matches.

Overall we thought this was a great game and one we will most likely take on holiday with us in the future as it’s easy, quick and good for the whole family.
